The King and Queen will visit Blandford Forum on Thursday, 16th July 2026.
At Blandford Forum Town Hall and Corn Exchange, Their Majesties will meet representatives from charities across Dorset and hear more about the renovation project to restore the historic building for the local community.
Blandford Forum’s Corn Exchange is a Grade I Listed building which has recently undergone a significant renovation project to preserve the historic venue and keep it fit for future generations. Their Majesties will view the newly restored George II Royal Coat of Arms, which was gifted to Blandford Forum Town Council in 1893 by local resident Frank Blanchard.
The King and Queen will also meet some of those involved in the building’s renovation project.
Then, The King and Queen will proceed into the Main Hall to view stalls showcasing the work of charities from across Dorset, including: veteran and prison services, community and domestic abuse support, volunteers, and groups representing faith, arts, education and heritage in the area, recognising harmony in Dorset.
The Dorset Opera, which began as a small local initiative and has become a nationally recognised event, will perform on the hall’s stage.
Their Majesties will have the opportunity to meet some of the animals benefiting from the work of environmental organisations across the country, including Ruby the owl from Coastland College, a career-focused college offering academic, vocational and apprenticeship courses.
Before departing, The King and Queen will be invited to unveil a plaque to mark the visit.
Outside, The King and Queen will visit market stalls displaying local produce. With a backdrop of a local band, Their Majesties will meet members of the local community outside the Town Hall.
