Trains

Unfortunately, we are no longer served by a railway, though vestiges of the Somerset and Dorset line can still be found around the town. On the plus side, there are several railway stations within a fairly short distance from the town offering a choice of lines and destinations. The nearest railway stations are:

Salisbury (24 miles): Southwestern Railway trains to London, Exeter, Bristol and Southampton.

Gillingham (17 miles) and Tisbury (18 miles): Southwestern Railway trains to London and Exeter.

Poole (14 miles) and Wareham (16 miles): Southwestern Railway trains to London and Weymouth.

Bournemouth (20 miles): Crosscountry Trains to Birmingham and Manchester.

The Trainline website gives information about train times, prices, accessibility and facilities in the UK and across Europe.
