The North Dorset Photo Competition is a collaboration between Visit Dorset and North Dorset towns – Blandford Forum, Gillingham, Shaftesbury, Sherborne, and Sturminster Newton – to celebrate the beauty and charm of our region as a must-visit destination, through the art of photography. You’re invited to capture the essence of your town – its landscapes, culture, and community – and share your unique perspective. Whether you’re a professional photographer or someone who loves snapping pictures on your phone, this is your chance to showcase what makes your town truly special.
The competition ran from 14 February to 28 March 2025, and was open to all ages and skill levels, with categories for Under 18s, 18 and over, and Professional Photographers in each town.
Selected entries from Blandford will be on display at various venues in the town from Friday 9 – Monday 26 May, and the overall winners will be exhibited in June at Sturminster Newton. There will be an electronic display of all the entries at the Blandford Information Centre throughout this period, and elsewhere on the dates shown below.
